Training & Community Education
At CAYA Collaborative Care, we believe that stronger communities begin with knowledge, connection, and access to the right resources. That’s why we offer a variety of educational and professional training opportunities for both employees and community members.
Our trainings are designed to increase awareness, build practical skills, and empower individuals, organizations, and communities to respond effectively to mental health challenges, substance use concerns, suicide risk, and crisis situations.

Mental Health First Aid
Mental Health First Aid equips participants with the knowledge and skills to recognize the signs and symptoms of mental health and substance use challenges and respond appropriately until professional help can be obtained.
This evidence-based training helps participants identify, understand, and support individuals who may be experiencing a mental health concern or crisis. Through increased awareness and early intervention, Mental Health First Aid contributes to healthier individuals and stronger Communities.
QPR: Question, Persuade, Refer
QPR is a nationally recognized suicide prevention training that teaches participants how to recognize the warning signs of suicide and respond effectively.
Using three simple steps—Question, Persuade, and Refer—participants learn how to engage someone who may be at risk and connect them with appropriate support and resources. Just as CPR helps save lives during a medical emergency, QPR equips individuals to respond during a mental health crisis.
ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training)
ASIST is a comprehensive, evidence-based suicide intervention training designed for anyone age16 and older who wants to learn how to provide immediate support to someone experiencing thoughts of suicide.
Participants gain practical intervention skills, increase confidence in helping others, and strengthen community networks dedicated to suicide prevention and support.
CPI (Crisis Prevention Institute)
CPI training focuses on preventing and safely responding to crisis situations through effective communication, de-escalation techniques, and person-centered intervention strategies.
Grounded in the principles of Care, Welfare, Safety, and SecuritySM, participants learn how behavior influences behavior, how to recognize and respond to escalating situations, and how to support recovery and learning following a crisis event.
Building Stronger Communities Together
Through education, training, and collaboration, CAYA is committed to empowering individuals and organizations with the tools they need to support mental wellness, promote safety, and create positive outcomes throughout the communities we serve.
